Week 5 into my body recomposition

It’s the 50th or so day since the entire island went under a lockdown from this pandemic and the 5th week since i decided to embark on my personal body recomposition or shredding because I thought what better way to spend this time when I’m actually able to control every aspect of my meals and my workout program unhampered by other things? It’s like I get to have bootcamp in my own home!

First I’d like to explain my lifestyle prior to this challenge because it would explain how easy it was for me to follow a plan. I have been vegetarian since 2014 so thats almost 6 years this 2020. I cook my own meals because I love cooking. I don’t eat fast food at all, I don’t drink soda either. The few things I would “binge” on would be chocolates whether its milk, dark, or caramel, pasta, and cheese laden pizza but always thin crust because I hate the chewiness of thick crusts. I was coming from a plant based diet with only a few sodium and glucose, sucralose, or other sugars laden treats it was not a huge adjustment to be made. I was also fasting for 16 hours a day with having only 8 hours to eat so a little bit of hunger wasn’t something I couldn’t handle.

When I started the plan 5 weeks ago the initial hurdle I had to overcome was the frequency of eating because the plan had me on 6 portions of meals a day so I had to eat several times in smaller but not tiny portions. I’m used to eating intuitively so I’m not looking for the stuffed feeling after each meal it was just the act of eating so often that I had to adjust to. On the second week I had some issues with hunger on the last meal so I went back to the team handling my nutrition and they added a few more calories for me. I had started out at 1,215 calories per day and it turned out to be too low because I was still on my regular workout plan so then I added some fruit and it went up to around 1,300 or so.

Now that I’m on the 5th week, my total calories have increased to 1,500 and I’m feeling way better than ever. My cravings for sweet or salty food after the last meal of the day was totally gone. I have stable energy throughout the day and have energy for my workouts as well. I’m happy with my progress and would like tp see this through to the 16th week of transformation! I’m not concerned at the number on the scale I’m all about how I feel as well as how flat my tummy could be as that is the one thing I haven’t been able to overcome.
