It’s still a work in progress but I didn’t think I could get here this fast. Honestly the first four weeks was easy as I had the detox mindset after not having paid attention to my nutrition since for months starting January where I got stranded for 2 weeks in Cebu due to the erruption of Taal Volcano and some events that I had to attend anyway, and then 2 weeks after that we had to fly to India for a wedding and spent another 2 weeks there. Obviously since the country went into lockdown due to SARS Corona Virus 2 pandemic there is little chance of doing any travelling for the rest of the year and being in lockdown did give me the perfect opportunity to focus on my nutrition without external factors like business meetings lunches or dinners or other dining arrangements. I would have total control on what and when I could eat.
After 8 weeks I’m really amazed at the progress I’ve made. Although the next 4 weeks, weeks 7 to 8 were a bit of a struggle because I have been eating so pristinely for the past 6 weeks I may have deviated a bit from my original nutrition plan for some reason I got hungrier so I added some fruit here and there and did have a cheat days (with cheat meals only and not blowing off the entire day eating junk) just to keep energy levels up. I’m glad that it wasn’t detrimental to my goal but I think I could have done a much better job if I hadn’t, but at the same time I wanted this to be sustainable so I allowed myself some leeway and not totally deprived myself of taking small mindful bites.
On the training portion I’ve been doing a yoga program by Dylan Werner called True Strength Builder and by this time I’ve gotten to level 2 and am well on my way to getting the confidence to perform handstands farther away from the wall but close enough that my legs could go into a partial backbend if I am not able to maintain the balance. I’ve also been biking daily for almost two months now since Easter and my legs have gotten accustomes to the pedaling and my cardiovascular endurance has definitely gone up as well. It’s truly an exciting time for me and I can’t wait to see progress after the 12th week!
