I usually start fitness and nutrition challenges around November or Decemeber each year just so that I’d be accountable throughout the Christmas and New Year festivities! These 2 occasions are so close to each other and is among a lot of other celebrations during that time of the year. Aside from the 2 dinners mainly Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, we have several Christmas get togethers with different group of friends for each member of the family. It’s almost every night that we have dinners planned with different people not to mention my grandmothers birthday on the 4th of December! Being a close knit Asian family we celebrate everything all the time so it just makes sense to me to be on some kind of fitness and nutrition challenge to keep me accountable and also to minimize the need to buy new dresses because those are expensive! I’m glad to have worn my 22nd birthday dress to NYE this year at age 29. Jan 02, 2020 I’m now at day 24 of the challenge and I still don’t love burpees but I don’t hate it that much anymore. I’m thinking about what challenge to do next. Last November of 2018 I started fasting intermittently and have continued to do so until now. I do 16/8 most days and sometimes go for 17/7 or sometimes 15/9 because it would depend on what’s going on the night before. I do like the flexibility of the program that’s why I’ve stuck with it for so long!
I might do 30 days of HIIT or something like that or I might do some of the 30 day programs on Alomoves (plans that I bought when it was still Cody) . This year I’m turning 30 and starting a new exciting decade I want to start my 30’s on a good plan mind, body, and soul. Looking back on this blog I’ve been here since I was a teen and it’s amazing how far I’ve come in terms of accepting myself, learning what works and what doesn’t, going vegetarian, from cheerleading to running half marathons, 14 years of yoga practice it’s insane and I’m thankful for all of it.
Happy New Year everyone may 2020 be the best yet!
*note: I wrote this on another platform early in January and I had to idea, much like the rest of the world, that 2020 is far from being the best but it’s certainly the most earth changing one yet.
