It’s the end of week 13 of my body recomposition challenge and I’m now reevaluating my goals. I started at between 152 and 150 pounds and I’m now currently hovering between 145 and 144 pounds. At this point I’m trying to see how I feel in terms of my appetite. I don’t think I have explained how I went about the first few weeks because it would explain why I’m considering changing my current approach.
This all started last April 13 which was the start of week 1. I had just come back from 2 trips, both trips were for 3 different weddings, one a local destination and the other in India! I absolutely love Indian food and if you love a certain cuisine and get to travel to that place then it would make sense to eat a lot of the food when you’re there. When the lockdowns started in the middle of March I thought about doing a reset or reboot on my diet by eating clean for a month to flatten the gut I had developed.
My friend introduced me to someone who made a customized nutrition plan to help me get back on track with my meals and the first month was amazing. It was way below my maintenance calories at that time and I felt good. Looking back I think it was probably because after indulging for 3 months since the December Holiday season my body felt great to get rid of the excess energy stored.
Three months later I’ve been doing my best in keeping added sugar very low and sticking to my meal plans 90% of the time and picking healthy alternatives when cravings start to hit. I also went through Dylan Werners True Strength Builder 1 and 2 but at the end of week 7 I found out that I was overtraining so on my fourth month on a meal plan I decided to get Aprils Smalletics July challenge and I think it’s going great for now. I wanted to really increase my metabolism by focusing on lifting weights to get hypertrophy instead of dieting at a really low calorie plan. I’m taking it really slow and giving myself this entire year to reach my goals without strictly dieting or totally eliminating my favorite sweets I still get to enjoy them on a schedule.
