It’s 2021 and we are still in a pandemic and there’s nothing else to do but to keep moving forward all while adjusting to the reality that at least in the near future, things are way different from pre-covid 2019.
Life is beginning to speed up even if we are mostly still stuck in just one location but the world or at least parts of the world are slowly but carefully opening up to help move an economy that was put on hold for months last 2020. I think because of the current set up we have had to adjust our routines and set up different ways to go on with our daily activities while enabling the balance between work and rest. It is now easier to forget about the difference between being at work versus being at home to wind down as a lot of us are still working from home and waking up means immediately going to work as once you touch your phone it starts, the never ending pings of work messages and emails that need your un/divided attention. This setup has started to feel like University student me when 9 months each year is dedicated to chasing deadlines and stuffing as much knowledge as possibly can in my 2 GB capacity brain, I desperately needed Cloud Storage and don’t exactly know how I got my engineering degree, all of which I’ve conveniently upload to the cloud after graduation and where I get that data when I need it now.

I knew I had to create a routine where I could tune out aside from the time I dedicate to training my body I needed time for my mind to go inward. I know that when I practice yoga it would also be the time when my mind could possibly tune out but I thought why not dive deeper and have even more things to focus on? This is where my oracle and tarot decks come in. Contrary to the traditionally religious fanatics who are quick to judge others, something that most teaching don’t condone, these decks are not at all focused on divining the future, it is simply a tool where archetypes are presented to help people go inward and learn about themselves and how they relate to the world around them. When used correctly and responsibly these tools could help us see our lives and others’ in a different perspective. It could help us in pointing out areas we could work on to strengthen us as humans and make us a better contributor of goodness in this world.
It has been so therapeutic when I practice or meditate with these decks. It has helped me get unstuck when my mind goes into the rabbit hole of thinking about the pandemic, the insanity and uncertainty of it. Sometimes the mind really goes to places where fear and anxiety reside but asking questions about myself or the world around me and getting a series of answers via the cards has been enlightening not to mention the ability to practice using my intuition and responding to situations instead of just reacting. Learning about both my light and shadows will be a lifelong thing but I’m glad I found a practice that has helped me cope with the changes 2020 brought. I hope you dear reader find your own practice too!
Love and light,
The Naturale Yogi
